For those of you who have traveled out of your cities, what is your favorite foreign city to go? Why?

I'm just curious. 8)

As for me, it's most definitely Berlin. I have nothing but good memories of a dingy, grey architechtured, urban town littered with grafitti. It's like a hotbed of rebellious creativity, a mass of controversial history and art smooshed into one place. The Berlin I know is a quiet town, where you can skip fare on the U & S-bahn & find an empty restaurant to eat at night... just be mindful of the rats when you walk back out.

Neat! I would love to see Greece someday.
London is neat, and I've never been to France or Italy! There's nothing that really interests me about Paris except for the metro, but I am long overdue for a trip to Italy; She is my motherland! I need to repatriate myself with my people!
Oberammergau in Bavaria, Germany. They have a production of the Passion Play that first started in the 1600's (which I've never seen but would love to) as well as a bunch of woodcarvings. On a bunch of the houses and buildings they have paintings of religious scenes and scenes from fairy tales. It's a beautiful town (:

I could probably cite just about any German city, tho. I love it over there <3
hmm, it's been a while since I've gone, but I really like Strasbourg, between France and Germany. Really nice place ˆ______ˆ I want to go back someday. The architecture is inspiring, and it has canals. It's almost like france+germany+venice.

Stuttgart, Germany. Used to live in the area and it has some nice musea and 18th century architecture (that apparently weren't blown up during WWII!).
